Reported Effects of PEMF Therapy

Magnetism is one of the universe’s fundamental powers. It has been used medicinally in China for over 2,000 years. Our ability to produce and control electro-magnetic fields and to use them to diagnose and treat has expanded enormously with the advent of electricity and electro-magnetics.

PEMF Therapy is the application of electro-magnetic fields to treat and promote health. Although this emerging technology may be new to North America, it has been studied systematically throughout Eastern Europe and in the countries of the former Soviet Union for over 40 years and is a standard treatment for many conditions.

pemftHow important is PEMF Therapy? In 1992 Dr. Andrew Bassett, who helped pioneer the first FDA approved device using pulsed electro-magnetic fields, wrote, “In the decade to come bioelectro-magnetics will assume a therapeutic importance equal to, or greater than, that of pharmacology and surgery today. With proper interdisciplinary effort, significant inroads can be made in controlling the ravages of cancer, some forms of heart disease, arthritis, hormonal disorders, and neurological scourges such as Alzheimer’s disease, spinal cord injury, and multiple sclerosis.”

Effects of Magnetic Pulse Therapy have been studied in:

Besides addressing specific conditions, many health promoting benefits have been reported, including increased energy and availability of oxygen, enhanced transport of ions (calcium, potassium, sodium) across cell membranes, improved circulation, enhanced sleep, pain relief and stress reduction. There is speculation that regular PEMF treatment may increase longevity and quality of life.

It relieves pain through: pain blocking, decreased inflammation, and increased cellular flexibility and increased blood and fluids circulation.

The trans-membrane potential (TMP) is the voltage difference (or electrical potential difference) between the interior and exterior of a cell. Differences in concentration of ions on opposite sides of a cellular membrane produce the TMP. The largest contributions usually come from sodium (Na+) and chloride (Cl-) ions, which have high concentrations in the extracellular region, and potassium (K+) ions, which along with large protein anions have large concentrations in the intracellular region.

The opening or closing of the ion channels at one point in the membrane produces a local change in the TMP, which causes electric current to flow rapidly to other points in the membrane.

In electrically excitable cells such as neurons, the TMP is used for transmitting signals from one part of the cell to the other.

In non-excitable cells, and in excitable cells in their baseline states, the TMP is held at a relatively stable value, called the resting potential. For neurons, typical values of the resting potential range from -70 to -80 mV (mili Volts); that is, the interior of a cell has a negative baseline voltage. The opening and closing of the ion channels can induce a departure from the resting potential, called a depolarization if the interior voltage rises (say from -70 mV to -65 mV), or a hyper polarization if the interior voltage becomes more negative (for example, changing from -70 mV to -80 mV).

In excitable cells, a sufficiently large depolarization can evoke a short-lasting all-or-nothing event called an action potential, in which the TMP very rapidly undergoes a large change, often reversing its sign. Special types of voltage-dependent ion channels that generate action potentials but remain closed at the resting TMP can be induced to open by a small depolarization.

By causing a hyperpolarized state at the neuronal membrane, PEMF therapy effectively blocks pain as it prevents the threshold necessary to transmit the pain signal to be reached. The fact that PEMF therapy successfully reduces pain in the short and long-term has been demonstrated and documented.

It’s magic the way that PEMF works!

pemf blood

1. Through atomic excitation, it stimulates the spin of the electron and causes it to store energy there that lasts for three days.
2. Molecules tend to align slightly with each magnetic pulse, making them easier to combine, especially when in an excited state.
3. The pH becomes 100 times more alkaline, which allows for better oxygen uptake, and the suppression of some harmful entities.
4. Viscosity shifts by a factor of 16, allowing liquids to flow into the cell gates.
5. The red blood cells start to separate (as they acquire a positive charge and repel each other) within minutes, allowing for a higher surface area for the transport of oxygen.
6. An apparent relaxing of the vascular system takes place within several minutes of completing a session. One of the most beneficial effects is the drop in blood pressure by 20-30%.
7. After a session there is a systemic response as though the body’s functions have been fine-tuned, or turbocharged. This causes general improvement of other conditions as well, not only the ones being specifically targeted through the therapy. Wounds heal in one third of the normal time.
8. Electroporation, or electroper meabilization, is a significant increase in the electrical conductivity and permeability of the cell plasma membrane caused by an externally applied electrical field. It allows more passage of solvent (H20) to dissolve toxins and stimulates a better delivery of a medicine or herb within the body.
9. Possibly the hardest one to accept is the fact that the cell can change some of the sodium back to potassium, statement supported by a US Army study, which leads to reduced pain, often fading the pain away in minutes.
10. The electromagnetic pulse causes the person to generate tiny little micro-currents, and the energy tends to run through the neural pathways. This seems to swap the C fibers from accessing the neural gates which allow the pain signal to stream into the brain. A diminished signal thus equals a decrease in pain perception.

As the speed of the pulse is so fast (less than a millionth of a second!), thanks to Bruce Gelerter’s invention, the PEMF 4000 can use tremendous amounts of energy without there being time to heat the atom. It can pulse energy into an area for as long as an hour without adverse reactions in most cases, so serious problems can take the extra energy needed to do extra work.

PEMF Discovery 100 years! Nikola Tesla! Pulsed Electro Magnetic Field Discovery Of The Century!

Nick Tesla

Nikola Tesla was a Serbian American inventor, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, and futurist best known for his contributions to the design of the modern alternating current electricity supply system.Wikipedia

Nikola Tesla was the first modern individual to be recognized for manipulating electromagnetic fields for health purposes. His methods and patents in the early 1900s for the Tesla coil were also used for electromagnetic medical devices. 1

These devices were often large round solenoid coils of wire that would surround the patient while they would stand or lie on a bed.

They were energized directly from the 50 or 60 Hz sine wave electrical system. The patient would usually experience an immediate relief in pain.

Tesla’s methods for electro-therapy were originally embraced by electricians who wanted to commercialize electricity however electro-therapeutic devices eventually fell out of favor with doctors when educators in western medical schools chose to only educate medical students in the use of pharmaceuticals and surgery (a result of the infamous Flexner Report 1910).

nikola-tesla-readingIn addition, a concerted effort by the pharmaceutical industry to discredit electromagnetic therapy caused it to be branded as “quackery” and electrical medical devices were only to be considered for diagnostic purposes such as X-ray. Tesla’s advances were quickly forgotten.

The same could be said of the work of Georges Lakhovsky and his multi-wave oscillator (MWO). By the 1920s, Lakhovsky had clinics all over Europe, delivering his electromagnetic therapy oscillatory, or “vibrational” therapy.

Lakhovsky’s method was so successful he was approached by several hospitals in New York hoping to test his apparatus experimentally. Remarkable results were obtained from a seven-week clinical trial performed at a major New York City hospital and that of a prominent Brooklyn urologist in the summer of 1941.

What seemed like a promising development in the use of the MWO in America quickly faded after Lakhovsky unexpectedly died in New York in 1942 (age 73). A car struck and killed him in a most mysterious manner. His equipment was removed from the hospital and patients were told that the therapy was no longer available.

The murderous hand of Maurice Fishbein (the AMA) and Big Pharma is all over this story. The pharmaceutical companies and doctors figured out they could make a lot of money “treating” people, not making them well, and then getting someone else to pay for it. They continue to ruthlessly discredit valuable therapies that threaten their profits.

However, in the countries not under the sway of Big Pharma, like the former Soviet Union, electromagnetic therapy did not die out, but was further developed and is still widely deployed throughout hospitals.

Their scientists learned that when magnetic fields are pulsed, their effect was considerably enhanced. It covered the innate vibration of a wider range of cells and tissues, Lakhovsky would probably have said.

Pulsed Electromagnetic Fields (PEMF) was thus born.

Lower frequencies, that is frequencies below the commercial supply of 50 Hz (60 Hz in the USA) were found to be more biologically effective.

I have already pointed out the work of others (including Robert Becker) in my book “Virtual Medicine”, showing that these extremely low frequencies, or ELFs for short, have higher biological impact and that in the same way less intense fields are more effective biologically (not a case of “more is better”).

With the fall of the Soviet Union, commercial enterprise was now possible with the West, allowing government controlled medical device manufacturers the authority to license their PEMF technology to neighboring countries such as Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Austria who eventually miniaturized and commercialized their products for hospital and home consumer use.

Although electromagnetic therapy has become widely adopted in Western Europe, its use was restricted to animals in North America. Veterinarians became the first health professionals to use PEMF therapy, for healing things like broken legs in race horses.

Professional sports doctors then decided to experiment with veterinarian devices off label on professional athletes which ultimately led to legally licensed devices for human use in the United States – but under strict stipulations that it was not to be used for non-union bone fractures, except under a medical prescription from a licensed doctor.

Based on a 2007 clinical trial, Thomas et al. conclude, “PEMF may be a novel, safe and effective therapeutic tool.” 2

General Health Benefits For Us All

Indeed, that is why cyclotron resonance devices (and dowsers) can detect specific tissues and disease processes.

Lakhovsky tells us that not only do all living cells produce and radiate their own oscillations, but they also receive and respond to oscillations imposed upon them from outside sources. Indeed, that’s why cell phones, microwave radiation and so forth, is so inherently dangerous.

But why not give the cells a dose of healthy, “juicing up” vibrations, the sort that living organisms like? Typically these are low frequency oscillations of ELFs, as they are called (extremely low frequencies).

It is possible to enliven body tissues and healthy physiological mechanisms and structures by using pulsed electromagnetic therapy.

A lot of people have caught onto this idea and it’s working out just fine in practice, with or without the approval of regulatory bodies. As usual, where in one territory you are told it’s illegal and maybe even dangerous, in other parts of the world it’s everyday medicine from properly trained, certified and competent MDs and practitioners.

Wherever you live, you need to know about this up-and-coming therapy.

PEMF! Pulsed Electro Magnetic Discovery!

This very week, my friend Marcus Freudenmann shared with me some research work done on the Continent. He and I just ran a cancer education conference together in London, with Colin Tipping and Dr. Med. Henning Saupe also contributing (2013).

Back at Dr. Saupe’s clinic, in Kassel, Germany, a cancer patient was driven through the PEMF protocol, while Marcus and his sons watched and documented it all on film. What took place was remarkable, not just as a treatment for a cancer patient but for anyone, in any state of health.

Especially, I would laud it as a treatment against any sort of aging, decay, metabolic slowdown or vascular insufficiency (the last covers most things due to aging!)

A sample of blood was taken and examined under dark field microscopy (which allows you to see living blood, instead of dead and stained specimens). What you see (image 1) is lots of red blood cells, stuck and jammed together in strings called “rouleaux” (like a pile of coins on its side).

This is a bad formation that signifies sickness and means that red blood cells cannot flow freely through tiny capillaries and so deliver their “load” of oxygen efficiently.

The blood is slugged, to use an everyday word.

Also, (arrowed) you will see a slightly different cell; that’s a white blood cell. But it’s quite as small as the red blood cells (it should be much larger, double or treble the size) and it is also very hemmed in and can’t function.

Finally, pathology number three, if you look closely you will see the blood plasma, the background fluid, is filled with fibers, rather like carpet shedding its pile. That’s very bad; those are fibrinogen threads and when present in large quantities like this acts like a buried mine that will explode at the least thing and cause instant clotting.

The more fibrinogen is present in the blood, the more likely a coronary thrombosis (myocardial infarction) or a stroke. Meantime, the fibers too add to the bloods overall viscosity or sludging. The rule is: the less viscosity, the better (providing the clotting mechanism is intact).

This sluggish blood was reflected in the patient, who said she was tired and had no energy.

It’s important to remember that no chemical substance (vitamin C, DCA, laetrile, or Artemisin) which which have all been advocated for the treatment of cancer would have any effect in such a state. Not even Otto Warburg’s oxygen in high concentration could bind to these cells and mobilize the blood!

What followed was 15 minutes of PEMF therapy, directed towards her pelvis, chest, thyroid, pancreas and liver. And then another blood sample was taken (as seen below). The changes that are evident are just amazing.

pemf 2 arrow web

In such a short time the red cells have separated and are flowing smoothly and sweetly. When they bump into each other, they soon separate; in other words they do not stick together.

Also, the white cell is no longer trapped but disengaged and, most remarkable of all, it’s more than doubled in size! Plus you can’t see the fibers any more; the blood plasma is swept “clean”.

This is of enormous importance to cancer patients, those fighting virtually any disease and those who resist aging. As Georges Lakhovsky taught us, our life is the energy in our cells. They vibrate and if that oscillatory rate drops to the levels shown by this lady, then blood perfusion drops and cancer is almost inevitable.

Conversely, if we energize our cells with this kind of energy medicine treatment, the cells regain their gusto, move around and function as they should. Wow!

This is not to call it a cancer “cure”. Indeed, it is different from many alternative therapies in that it is not aimed at the cancer at all; it’s aimed at the blood support system and general cellular energies.

Nevertheless, if you have fully understood what I have written here, you will likely judge this to be a must-have approach, in addition to anything else you may be employing against your cancer (and, yes, even in conjunction with chemotherapy and radiotherapy).

Personally, I relish this against aging. As a confirmed “Boomer”, I want to live a lot longer; the party we’ve always promised ourselves has only just begun! With PEMF to jolly up my tissues and keep them clean and refreshed, I expect to go on dancing a lot longer yet. Care to join me?

auto-nikola-tesla-tesla-cage-267644Why PEMF works so great on pain!

These pulses cause chemical reactions at the cellular level by opening channels in the cell membranes. The cell membrane is the cell’s “brain.” It communicates with other cells, and regulates what comes in and goes out, including nutrients, hormones, signaling compounds, and toxins. The membrane has a positive charge on one side and a negative charge on the other.

Opposites attract, so it’s the constant electrical activity between these positively and negatively charged ions that open and closes passages in the membrane. This voltage difference between the ions on either side of the cell membrane is called the cell’s “resting potential”.

Chronic pain, disease, and damage decrease the resting potential, much like overuse drains the voltage of a battery. In the case of chronic pain, a low resting potential allows too many pain signals to enter the cell, promoting inflammation, damage, and ever-increasing levels of pain.

PEMF restores the membrane’s electrical balance. This “charging of the battery” blocks incoming pain signals, thus quickly reducing pain and inflammation. This same mechanism allows damaged cells to recover and repair. Repeat treatments (depending on your needs) provide lasting results.

PEMF reduces inflammation and promotes repair

PEMF also promotes healing through its actions on a signaling compound in the body called nitric oxide. There is a pro-inflammatory form of nitric oxide and two anti-inflammatory forms. Excess levels of the pro-inflammatory form cause chronic pain and many autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.

Anti-inflammatory forms promote blood flow, oxygenation, growth and repair, and relaxation of blood and lymph vessels. Studies show PEMF promotes the anti-inflammatory forms of nitric oxide, thus promoting recovery and regeneration, and reducing inflammation.

PEMF repairs bones and tissue

PEMF enhances the repair of bones and tissue by increasing the flow of blood and lymph. The lymphatic system removes waste products and blood delivers oxygen and nutrients to the body’s tissues and organs. PEMF enhances these systems, stimulating the growth of new blood vessels and bone, and speeding repair and recovery from injuries and wounds.

PEMF slows aging

The resting potential of damaged and diseased cells is up to 80 percent lower than normal. This lowers metabolism and energy and makes the body more vulnerable to damage from disease-causing free radicals. PEMF raises the body’s supply of circulating electrons, thus serving as a potent antioxidant to boost cellular energy. PEMF’s antioxidant benefits, along with its proven ability to repair and regenerate tissue, make it a powerful anti-aging tool.

PEMF improves brain function

Studies show PEMF’s effect on the nervous system dramatically improves insomnia, reduces the damage from strokes, and improve symptoms associated with multiple sclerosis.

Nikola Tesla was one of the most celebrated personalities in the American press, in this century. According to Life Magazine's special issue of September, 1997, Tesla is among the 100 most famous people of the last 1,000 years. He is one of the great men who divert the stream of human history. Tesla's celebrity was in its height at the turn of the century. His discoveries, inventions and vision had widespread acceptance by the public, the scientific community and American press. Tesla's discoveries had extensive coverage in the scientific journals, the daily and weekly press as well as in the foremost literary and intellectual publications of the day. He was the Super Star.

Tesla wrote many autobiographical articles for the prominent journal Electrical Experimenter, collected in the book, My Inventions. Tesla was gifted with intense powers of visualization and exceptional memory from early youth on. He was able to fully construct, develop and perfect his inventions completely in his mind before committing them to paper.

According to Hugo Gernsback, Tesla was possessed of a striking physical appearance over six feet tall with deep set eyes and a stately manner. His impressions of Tesla, were of a man endowed with remarkable physical and mental freshness, ready to surprise the world with more and more inventions as he grew older. A lifelong bachelor he led a somewhat isolated existence, devoting his full energies to science.

In 1894, he was given honorary doctoral degrees by Columbia and Yale University and the Elliot Cresson medal by the Franklin Institute. In 1934, the city of Philadelphia awarded him the John Scott medal for his polyphase power system. He was an honorary member of the National Electric Light Association and a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. On one occasion, he turned down an invitation from Kaiser Wilhelm II to come to Germany to demonstrate his experiments and to receive a high decoration.

In 1915, a New York Times article announced that Tesla and Edison were to share the Nobel Prize for physics. Oddly, neither man received the prize, the reason being unclear. It was rumored that Tesla refused the prize because he would not share with Edison, and because Marconi had already received his.
